Redundant Jesus

I was setting up an exhibition in a local catholic church hall when I came across a room full of religious paraphernalia that appeared to have outlived it's purpose. The reasons why are unbeknown to me. Perhaps their style had become unfashionable, and they had been replaced with more contemporary objects. Some might have come as a bequest from a parishioner who had passed on, and they duplicated objects that the church already owned. Some may have simply suffered the ravages of time. Whatever the reason, they appeared to me as a poignant collection of lost souls in the dim light of that storeroom. A random collection of objects of faith, no longer valued, biding their time, seeking redemption.
